I need YOUR help with the Blackbox
Ok, I'll get straight to the point. I'm no longer interested in making a console. I want to take what I've done with the Blackbox and make it portable. Yup, basically a portable Blackbox. Shouldn't be too hard... just need a battery and a screen. Everything else 'technical' about the Blackbox should remain intact.
So, here's where you come in. I need a new name for the system. The case will still be black, and somewhat box like (but with curves to make it feel more comfy in the users hands). Blackbox sounds too bulky. I also need a marketing theme. What's the 'catch phrase' to get people to buy it? And what about a new logo? All the Blackbox logos I and other people have made don't apply now.
There's plenty of reasons why I want to do this:
- The Hydra. It's just too similair.
- It uses SD cards. It seems that those are just made for portable devices.
- This is a forum about portables, not consoles. The system is mainly marketed towards the members of Benheck.
- Everyone on these forums and their dog seems to be making a homebrew console. I want to be different.
Alright, so I need your help. Anybody on the BB team can talk to me about these changes here. If you have any questions, feel free to post!
Looking forward to your opinions!

Sounds fun! I'll start thinking up some cool names later, midterms are fast approaching...
And even though the BlackBox is going portable, I think you should still throw in some A/V out jacks, just to preserve the original mentality of the project, y'know?
Also, if you need a hand with some of the solder work involved in semi-mass production of these things, I'd be glad to help out.

i've got an idea for a name and catch phrase....."b32" as the name, and
"b32, so fast, now you see it...now you don't..."
I don't know anything about blackbox, so if I made errors, don't mind

@Triton: Currently i'm using a case from Pactec as a prototype case, but if I make a vaccum forming table I'd love to use one of your designs. Just make me some molds and send them to me.
@CTFan: I'll see what I can do about the RCA jacks. Also, i'm glad to know that if I need help with the production, I've got some help. Most likely, Sky is going to be helping with the fab as well.

Don't start bickering over all the independent game consoles or this will be locked. Seriously. It's annoying. <img src="http://www.skytroniks.com/images/databa ... es/wtf.gif">

Oh well. It's not really a big deal. Thanks for the work that you've done, the project will survive with out you. No hard feelings, I hopeSkyone wrote:I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm out. I don't know why, but this changes everything.
Hmm... are you looking for a new name? Or what?
Good luck and suches.
Btw, out of all the people on the team I suspected might of left because of this change, I thought you would be most likely. Lucky guess?
@Bic: Ok, seriously, what the hell!? I wasn't bickering at all, I was merely stating that I wanted to be different from the rest of the people making consoles. Every thread about these things, good or bad, you whine and complain about it. Not cool.
