There's only 1 battery in the Wii, as shown above.
Yeah the Mii's must be in an EEPROM or something. Once you get the Wii down to bare bones there really isn't much in it. CPU, GPU, a RAM chip, the EEPROM and some support stuff. That's it.
I guess most Nintendo consoles are like this, but this is even sparser than Gamecube. It's much easier to work with though... It's amazing how this trayless disc drive is like 5 times thinner than the BEAST of a drive in the 'Cube that was generic as hell.
I will try the "holding down" power button. That would be the button on the console itself, right? Yes, in "Red" mode pretty much everything is off. Thanks for the tip, I might be able to use a relay for the screen now.

PS: As for which is first... I guess we shall have to see! Remember, nobody ever really knows what I'm working on, or how far I am.

I think the Miis get stored on the internal flash memory.
I guess Nintendo never wants you to turn it off, so you play games forever and ever and ever. Until, during the discus event in Wii Track and Field, you hurl the controller clear through the console, releasing a shower of sparks upon your friends and their blank stares. (It's been a long gaming session.) That will probably happen on January 24, or possibly halftime during the Super Bowl.
If you didn't get it, I'm trying to imitate the 1984 Apple superbowl ad.

Well I guess you're probably really far since you're mentioning it now.. And mine isn't really a fully portable system, it's just a screen and battery dock with custom sensorbar. I want to get another Wii before I do a completely portable system. I'd like to add a built in classic controller into the handheld version, and use it as a kind of Classic and GC handheld, I'll have to figure something out for the Wii games though still..

Eh, I assume Ben's will be a laptop or something similar. But I'm betting his will be battery powered. Will yours? I think, as far as us on these forums, the battery makes all the difference as far as portability. Then again, Ben's 360 didn't have batteries, did it? The Wii is so much smaller though, and I assume much less power hungry. I doubt Ben would be worrying about the Wii never turning off if he wasn't making it battery powered.EnterTheHatrix wrote:Well I guess you're probably really far since you're mentioning it now.. All the same,

Mine had the ability to be a laptop, but I don't see the point in making it a laptop if the Wii can stand up anyway, just enforce it as a screen addon.
Anyway, my video isn't working now, I'll have to check my connections and fingers crossed I haven't copulate the screen.

I believe Ben mentioned already on his front page that he was doing a Laptop. (I could be wrong though)

hey, does the ps2 ever turn off? someone said it does, but does it still have some juice in it to power the memory chips so that it doesn't lose memory?
I want to make sure it's completely dead to use in my ps2 laptop.

Coin battery. Plus the relay for Standby probably takes a few mA.

That's what the funky flat battery is for. Ben just removed it, so that's how he knows what it does.Gamelver wrote:I don't know why this is a problem, though....I unplug my Wii frequently and I'm pretty sure it still keeps the date/time.....
