My own classic controller?

My own classic controller?
I was think of this, and may do this this weekend. How about taking apart an old gamecube controller, and soldering wires to specific buttons. Then take a a port from a genesis or atari (those are straight connections right? No Ics?) Basically making your own converter.

You can wire it up to work with Atari pretty easily, unless you have some major time on your hands and a crapload of patience, don't fuss with making it work with genesis.tom61 wrote:Atari is straight wireing. However, Genesis uses a basic protocol to encode buttons.
Also, there is an IC in the Classic controller, so that isn't straight wired.

Also if you want a new cord to use on this, you can dissect the arms off of a serial cable so it will fit in the Atari slot, but just make sure you use the right wires.madc0w wrote:Well I have 2 atari controllers, so this should work out. Bomber man only requires 1 button, so I should be set.

Is this for Wii? If it is, why not just plug in your Gamecube controller that you are going to take apart?
