Mortal Kombat: Jack Thompson style

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

I can't believe someone actually funded this documentary.

Just watch for yourself, I don't need to really say anything. The fact that he blames 9/11 on video games is just too much for me to fathom. He used to be an annoyance, but now he's just overly sickening. :x

EDIT: Iposted this right before I got to school, didnt get to explain. I saw this yesterday, it almost made me barf. it is so sad that, in this day of age, people still believe this political crap.

Freedom of choice, and Social Responsibility... What about Personal Responsibility? What about taking the consequences of your actions and not using an excuse to avoid those consequences?

Everyone's so after video games because they breed killers. What about cultist's like Mansion, no video games yet he had people kill a lot. What about all the violent activites of the past, do they dismiss that for the fact that it doesn't help to push their agenda? I remember reading an article, sources from the government itself, showing violence at an all time low.

Really when are these camera hounds going to have someone sit down in front of them and tell them they're wrong. It's happened to Lars Olrick about Napster and music downloads, why not Jack Thompson and his crusade on video games?

Jack thompson is a slimy son of a B***.
I've known that since I saw him on a G4 episode.
How could you hate video games?
And blaming 911 on video games is right out.
Little osama and his little friends already knew how to pilot aircraft.
If they did train on flight simulators, then that's what they were meant for.
You guys really need to go to G4.com and check out that video that makes fun of jack thompson.
You can't hate contra and mario, that's sick. but I sometimes hate GTA as well...

No offense, but I thought we had all agreed that the best thing to do about JT was just ignore him as much as possible, and not post every time he starts waving his arms and and talking gibberish, since it just helps encourage him to do it more often. :?

I always find it interesting that no one (other than George Carlin) ever seems to mention religion when it comes to these things. People pick on the entertainment industry for cultivating violence, but it cannot hold a candle to the body count of people who have died because they didn't answer the "God" question correctly.

The Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and hell even the death of Jesus himself are all shining examples of this sad fact.

I am not religious, but I have no problem with people who are. I understand the reason religion needs to exist, but it just doesn't work for me.

All that said, to quote the bible "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Jack Thompson would do well to heed these words, because there are (quite obviously) far bigger causes of death than video games.

I could also have included Global Warming as another leading cause of death, but that isn't anything that "influences" people to act in the ways that they do. Unless, of course, they are those people who blow up Hummers to save the world. 8)

ok this is something I like to call responsibility, there is an issue that parents are not telling their kids right and wrong,

There is also something else natural selection, Survival of the species means That the "Bad members" must be sacrificed so they may remove themselves from the gene pool, people without a sense of reality need to go...my opinion

Now Tom and Jerry has the same argument, catharciss the release of negative activity by the watching of fictitious violence or emotion...that is the theories of the Ancient Greeks

I don't know but they're are ay too many people that should not be able to breed, again my opinion
I refuse to dignify myself with an intelligent and witty signature

I think this summarizes my opinions on the subject rather well.

WARNING: ITS ABOUT RELIGION AND POLITICS, SO WATCH OUT LITTLE ONES!

And I'd like to point out, in no way does this define my political beliefs (but maybe my religious ones)

We all know the flight school they went to was useless, flight simulator taught them how to fly the planes.
