Post by ganonbanned »

If it's a wireless controller, you need the charge and play kit. If it has a wire, plug it into your USB port. I think WinXP and up recognises it as a computer controller.

If it's wireless, get the wireless hook up kit, there are drivers on microsoft's web page, but it pretty much auto recognizes it...how do I use this on CS? :P

Long story short, the wired one will work, the wireless one won't. The charge and play kit doesn't do anything but charge it. It won't allow it to be recognized as a controller.

it's actually possible to use an origional Xbox controller as a PC controller. They use USB, but don't have the same output. just take off the breakaway cable and cut the end off. also, cut a USB cable. match up all the wires, and Viola! you have your own XBOX to PC adapter cable. because it's got a breakaway cable, you can attach it back to an unmodded breakaway.

Actually, yea the wireless will work, Microsoft recently released a dongle for the computer which allows wireless hookup to your computer. I think what people misrealized with the play and charge kit, they though play was playing on the computer or something. I though the same :P ...but it's really just you can play on your 360 while charging at the same time :-)

I for one prefer Xbox controllers to Xbox 360, espically the ones we have over here.

Yes it is possible, didnt Microsoft release a 360 controller for PC?

Yes, it's called the wired controllers. :P They already plug into a USB port (on the 360 or the computer). What more could you ask for?

Windows XP should automatically recognize a wired XBox 360 controller plugged into your computer.
