I made you a "Prototype" design with everything labeled. I think Wifi is too much, standard Ethernet should be fine for linked play/internet updates.

it would be 4 button, and have a custom linux os that was mp3 and png compatible. It also really needs wifi.

I love Harshboy's design- not that it's original in any way (it is just a rectangular solid, after all). It just has a simplistic beauty to it, and seems very doable...so long as you find a SBC with the LCD controllar onboard. The moment you need a seperate controller board, that thing will balloon in size.

Well before you go adding things like Wi-fi and a bunch of advanced items, I think you should focus on the basics first. Get the core of the system up and running then add things like data-link, wi-fi or other stuff. Really even today those are secondary to having the system function first, like what's the point of having a 360 with internet, wi-fi, play DVD/HD-DVD movies if it can't even play basic games properly.

I do agree with the option for SD card, that I think will be standard on all consoles (those that get to prototype). Far easier then cartridges and have a far greater capacity.

I'm assuming you already found a compatible LCD panel and cables then? When I look at your selection of SBC's, I wonder whether you know what you're getting yourself into. None of those boards have any "real world" connections for such things as sound and input (with the exception of the Mini-ITX). Just about all of them were meant to connect to a carrier board of some kind. Using the Techsol will mean either finding the carrier board, or buying the male connectors of those two long white connectors and doing some extremely tight soldiering.

Rip YOU off?
It was my idea to take homebrew system to the portable.
It was not my choice to switch to a SBC before we made it into a portable.
half the people from that site used to be part of west.
My WEST tried to creat the newest idea possile, than VSkid tried to talk me into making portable blackboxes.
Im really pissed off now.

You know what I think? I think that this whole "west" Idea sucks, and people should not side with it. seriously kid, just ditch it.

I reiterate one of my previous comments: I think everyone should join the BlackBox team, because they are the only ones who have actually accomplished anything (I haven't looked at portagame yet, so excuse any oversights on my part). I have still yet to see any evidence that any of the forum members with "my game console" threads are remotely capable of completing such a project.

Seriously ganonbanned, I spun out earlier in this topic but only because I wanted to help with something new. You, on the other hand, seem to be having a temper tantrum because you think they copied you. I'm no Admin or Mod, but man, you got me mad when I read that.
