XBOX 1 controller question

Post by khaag »

Does anybody know what kind of switches the first party xbox controller's R and L triggers use? (I'm talking XBOX 1 not 360)

The tact switches or the ones that go down the middle. Cause I think I saw one w/pots.

Do you think there would be anyway to hook them up to an N64 controller as the R and L buttons?

ive never seen one inside, but it feels to me like its an analog + tact. like at the very end you feel it click a little.

in that case, you could just wire the switch at the end up like the L and R button and ignore the analog part.

I don't think it is a tact, that clicking noise is just plastic hitting plastic i believe...

They're analog buttons, they work like the PS2 controllers buttons. If you push a little it the action it controls is slow or little. It is similar to a pot.

If you're looking to use it as a means for the L and R for an N64 I'd say no. Go with tact or standard rubber pad buttons. Those are a simple on/off connection that would be best for the controller and system.

they are just a pot, there is no tac in there (not like gamecube), they use the same bottom as Dreamcast and PS3 (not ps2). like gamecube but without the tac at the end.
