BEHOLD- THE AMAZING AND TRUE STORY OF RETROMASTER'S QUEST...
I HAVE WENT ON A SUCCESSFUL QUEST TO FIND ALMOST FREE RETRO AND SEMI-NEW SYSTEMS!
it all started when I went to arizona for the holdidays....
I aqquired an atari 2600 4 switch woody system, part of my gimmick to sell it as a portable for a price so far out the ass you'd wonder what kind of evil creature even spawned it.
So when I came back to florida, I needed a new one to make portable, as I can't hack the first system of a version I get.
SO.........My mother dropped me off at goodwill............
I asked the clerk if they carried videogame systems or computers........
he said no........so I did a search for my self to find several almost new and old computers for under 5 dollars, and several retro systems including psx ( this is where I got my 2 psxs for under 5 dollars )
for such a dirty dirt price that if you touch them you get anthrax or birdflue. So the message of this post is to say-GO DOWN TO GOODWILL AND BUY FROM THE POOR! the rumor that they don't sell electronics is a myth! they sell TVs computers, cameras, lcd screens, gamesystems, and parts all for dirt cheap! This includes an xbox 360 faceplate!

It all depends on the charity and what people donate.
I don't know of any local Goodwill stores (that aren't in the slums of Providence or Boston), but there are a few Salvation Army locations nearby. I went to one big one, and they had several computer systems, some VCRs and DVD players, and a bunch of other stuff.
They wanted $150 for each complete system, $100 for each CPU, $25 per VCR, and $50 per monitor. All their machines were Pentium 1s or lower.
There was one nice looking VCR that would have made a great HTPC case, but it was $30 so I opted out. I'll just rip off the case design instead.
They did have a Super Mario 64 110 camera for $2, but it was broken.
Why do charities think trash is worth so much? Some prices are reasonable but for only $200 more you can get a new PC!

Oh jeeezzzz.....
WHAT DISHONEST PEOPLE!!!!!
some idiot took apart what looked to be a perfect old computer, gutted it and left the useless components like ribbon cable and their ports, and then puts the case back together thinking no one will find out. Is that dishonest or what! I could figure out it was gutted by looking into the oddly large vent slits with a mini LED flashlight that I forgot to take out of my pocket from soldering my computers fried power supply. If this guy was thinking about selling it for someone just to use the case for a project, then he should have thought twice to selling it to a run down trah pile where low class retards that never went to college come to shop for
worn out underwear that a crazy hobo owned!

A guy a friend of mine knows would regularly buy new, high-end computers, replace all the internals with old left-over parts, and then return the computer for his money back- minus a small processing fee.
So basically he would get an entire high-quality computer for 50 bucks- minus the case. He always payed in cash so there would not be a way to track the PC back to him.
