Stupid question...

Hey, I know this is a stupid question, but here goes.

Which side of vero/PCB board is the front? Do I solder the leads on the shiny (I think copper) side, or the other side? In other words which side do I put the component on?

Components on the side w/o the copper, the copper trace side you solder the ends of the components to, that's what the copper is there for.
