Mediagate Mg-305HD, Hacks, Exploits?

I just got this for Christmas (thanks to my dad for getting me what I ask for)

I did some googleing to see if there was any firmware hack, exploits, hardware mods, anything. I found nothing, but there is always something that I dont know, some website that google decides to put as page 23890123 or something stupid like that.

Is there ANYTHING out there for this great product.

what kind of hacks are you wanting to do? That thing doesn't really look like hackable material.

You never know what could be out there. It can run linux, or another cracked firmware that looks better, or supports more video files, or some games. maybe have it recognize a RF usb dongle or bluetooth dongle so i can hook controllers up to it, play roms.

i dont know. it just seemed like a product that something would be out for.
but i guess not

Looks neat. I haven't seen anything for this device, however. You have to keep in mind that a hacker has to get ahold of a device before there can be hacks for it. It looks expensive, and most hackers aren't the richest people out there.

Take it apart and see what's inside. With so many features I would not be surprised for it to have a minature x86 PC inside.

Likely a mini-ITX mobo, so yea there likely already is a Linux port to it. Also its possible there's unused expansion slots in it, such as unused SATA ports that you could add stuff too. Just open it up being careful not to break it, see what's in it then go from there.

The Wiki has a lot of Tech info on the Processor etc and is a good place to start,but is in its early stages yet..

The MG-350HD uses the Sigma Design EM8621 Chip,whereas the the MG-35 Uses a Earlier version of the Sigma chip..

HTPC client is a ways off yet,unless we get a lot more people on board..
