xbox help needed.

Post by jeffslot »

Hi guys,

I no someone will probably post to go to a xbox forum, but I figure I'll try to see if the guys on my favorite forumn are of any help 1st.

I traded someone for an xbox on gametz.com. All I know about the xbox is that "a softmod went wrong".
...When you turn on the Xbox a message comes up and says "xbox live is updating your system. Please do not turn off your xbox console." after about five seconds it says "xbox live is not responding, please try again later". Its all due to a softmod gone wrong as i said before, so im sure if you re-install the operating system it will perform like a brand new xbox. thanks a lot. and ill send out asap...
Is this xbox salvagable? I also have a functioning xbox. Where do I even begin in my quest to save this xbox?

can you play games on it? or does it say that even with a game in the drive.

if it says that with a game in, you got ripped off, as you need to boot a game to do a softmod.

you might be able to make everything better with a modchip

Modded xboxs do work on live but you need a modchip. Read about marrage theory on xbox scene.

As for recovering from a bad soft mod if all else fails you can reformat the hard disk and copy over a new file system. You'll need the hdd key but if it plays games thats not hard to get. Xbox scene has tutorials.

Yeah, install a DuoX2 GS modchip, there is no other way to recovery it. Then you will boot it with a UnleashX cd, format the HDD, find a stock MS dashboard install that, and install UnleashX.
