I got...
-Sandisk Sansa e260 (4G)
-Mini wireless colour spy camera thingy
-Programmable robot
-Reverence for Life by Albert Schweitzer
-A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
-The Story of My Life by Helen Keller
-The Major Works of Francis Bacon
-Sudoku handheld game
-Complete series box set of Get Smart
and other such things...

It's a lot considering all I asked for was... well, a few books.

The Sansa is GREAT. It has mp3/wma/wma drm, mov, bmp/jpg(/png?), and FM playback. And voice/FM recording. The screen is ABSOLUTELY BEUTIFUL and the menus along with the controls work perfectly. There's even a (hardware-based?) shutoff in case of freezing, which works by holding down the menu button for 15 seconds.

I've already uploaded 2 episodes of Dilbert, 2 episodes of The Boondocks, and the first episode of that long-forgotten LoZ series (and some other videos, but I've deleted them). The video converter that came with the mp3 player was a bit lacking in options, but I found some info on editing the config files to my liking (the default audio settings for one thing, were horrible!). The MJPEGB encoded MOV-only playback is a bit of annoyance as the file sizes are HUGE considering the size of the video (something around 180x280), but the video IC is thought to have MPEG-4@30FPS capabilities which might be utilized by Rockbox in the future. And of course, the video bitrate can always be altered in the config file to lower file size.

Rockbox (which I'm sure you've all heard of) is still a work in progress for the Sansa e200 series (no audio support for one), but Sandisk has actually shown some interest and helped in what ways they could (sending dev units to the developers, etc. Smart idea really, as Rockbox support could help take out some of Apple's grasp on the market). But of course no audio and no real documentation didn't stop me from downloading it and playing some Doom2 with a Counterstrike WAD! (besides, I have a dual-boot set up with the original firmware)

Wow... completely inappropriate. Not that I wanna play mod or anything, just keep in mind that we do have younger members here, and that's not exactly something they should be reading.

And sniper_spike, I got that same mp3 player for my mom! It's her first one, and she's loving it. Definitely one of the better gifts I've gotten her over the years!

Yes, pretty sure. I'm just a guy with a family that doesn't buy into iPod hype=>I get better MP3 players and they pay less $$.

Christmas is over and the money I got (failed to tell you greedy guys) has just been used to buy three items. First was a Rifts book, Megaverse Builder. The second and third are off ebay, a case and car charger for my iPod Nano, as well a remote so I don't have to leave it out in the open.
