Enough is Enough (Tired of this mofoin controller)

Post by demonofaj »

OK, I have HAD IT, with this controller wiring. I know there's a 'magical' diagram...however, I have a purple wire on my controller and it's not on the diagram. If anyone has a pinout for the older style PSONE controllers, I will literally bless them...so on a cold winter day, won't you let this boy's dream come true? Also, I need aid on controllerthis controller...yea, the new ones. I know how to hook it up to the PSONE motherboard, but not how to rewire the commands! See where the plastic paper connects to the motherboard...yea, in Ben's book, he gives the commands...but I don't get his method. Aparently you have to shove a wire in there or something...I really need help, a very merry thanks.

As for the purple wire, I posted a modified version of that infamous image that included the purple wire's location when using it for a PS2 (obviously the drawing of the PSOne board should be ignored when using it for the PS2, just look at it for the contacts). Why there would be a purple wire on a PSOne controller is beyond me though. I figured for the PS2 it had something to do with the analog buttons or something.

Whether the purple wire's location is the same for the old PSX controller you're talking about, and the PS2, I don't know. So this might not help. But I'm assuming they're the same.

No, you solder the wires the metal pins on the controller board. You are talking about wiring the tacts right?

Yea, actually, IM me, I think we can talk... :P

EDIT: Well yea, I need to rewire the commands to tactile switches, but what metal pins, all the button commands just go to some plug...and then a flurry of traces... :?
