Nintendo DS Media Center!

Having just recently sold my DS phat for a lovely new DS lite, I've been interested in turning my DS into a media player of sorts.

First off, has anyone here had any good/bad experiences with media players for the DS? Secondly, has anyone managed to get one working with a Mac? (or better yet, take the computer out of the equation...) Lastly, does anyone have any input on creating a "backup battery" to use with a DS?

I've found two possible solutions to the media side of things:

First, a MAX Media Dock, which would allow me to play MP3s, and possibly homebrew stuff (can anyone confirm this?), but it would not allow me to play videos because it requires you to use software (that I can't run) to convert the video to some proprietary format.

Second, some kind of Supercard product that allows me to play MP3s, homebrew, but makes no mention of video.

Either of these seems like a viable option, but there are probably other options out there, so I will take any input I can get here. I would like to play video in a .mov or .mpeg format, but I'm not sure if it's even possible!

And then the reason for the backup battery is obviously because the media player will be power hungry, but also because of the small project I'm turning this into- I want to hook up a 60GB iPod HD to the CF slot on the media dock!

Call me crazy if you will, but if you guys could help me turn my DS into a media center, it would be much appreciated!

Supercard Micro sd lite rumble, and moon shell will do it all.

What about video and Mac compatibility?

Moonshell has video, and mac s just a program right? Or is it an os to go over your ds firmware.

I think he wants to know if a Macintosh (iMac, etc...) will work as opposed to a Windoze pee cee.

As far as I can tell these things just read data off memory cards. Just get a USB card reader and you're good to go.

Pretty sure anything that can write to a flash card and in the proper format will work with all those readers they put out for the DS.

I need a way of formatting the card to FAT32, Disk Utility doesn't do that.

Any Mac users out there know another program to do this?
