That if you delete those that have been inactive for 60 days, only do the ones without posts.

It's useless though. Spambots are new acounts, not old inactive accounts that suddenly start spamming

They still take up names that other people might want. It would also give a more accurate member count.

We've had this discussion a few times before, we will not be deleting users that do not post.

What about SpongeBuell's 2+2 idea? It seems like it could work, and if they figure out that they need to put "4" in the answer box, we could change it to random simple math questions.

Well the whole "2+2" thing is up to Ben. He's the only one that has access to the FTP server and so this is all waiting on him. I'm hoping he'll do it before New Years.

Also I'm working on thinning out the spam bots that have a 0 post count. This will be a continuing thing for a few days.

I PM'd Ben and recommended to him that he install a simple mod that will prevent them from signing up in the first place.

Anti-robot registration:
http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/560

That should stop them..

It's relatively easy to install, just make sure you do a full backup before applying it.

Hopefully if he installs it, this problem will be resolved.. Otherwise, we'll have to keep dealing with this crap.

@Mr.Game and watch: Replying to spambots is spam, so STOP DOING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just leave it alone and wait for a mod to delete it.

You do know they can't understand what you're saying, right? They ARE bots after all.
92% of teens have moved on to rap.
If you are part of the 8% who still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your signature.
