Harvest Moon DS? (Christmas present related)

Okay, here's the deal. My sister wants a new DS game for Christmas, and I've narrowed it down to a few, although the most promising would be Harvest Moon. She's a big fan of the series and loved the latest GBA title, but I read very mixed reviews on the game. For those of you who have it, how do you like it, and what was wrong with it? Thanks!

Great HM game, Reminds me a lot of 64 mixed with a wonderful life.

I own my own copy of HMDS and it is the closest you'll get to the 64 version but the resource grind on it is absurd and ruins the game within about 5 hours of play if that. I'm sorry dude.

Animal Crossing'll last a lot longer than HMDS... network play on it is a blast also. And it has internet play, possibly the best internet play of any of the DS games so far.... I could go on all day on Animal Crossing. It's celebrating its 1 year anniversery and I still play it here and there. Nintendo also still supports it online. I got a Xmas gift from them on it from logging on to the DS network. Anyway...

Princess Peach is really good too, so is The New Super Mario Bros. Mario Kart DS, or if she's a puzzle person there's Tetris DS, Meteos, Polarium... probably more but those're just the ones that I own that I'm looking at right now.

Harvest moon for gba is great and this one is a lot like hm gba so yeah it'll be great.
