No, whoever's suing will lose the suit. It's flat out obvious. (Unless they get that lawyer who won that McDonalds coffee suit or something)

Hey, we have the the crappy law system & unknowingly corrupt government, Australia has a crappy telephone company that offers 23KBps ADSL for $40AU, so we're even!

Thats true lol but we still have freedom and don't have a president trying to spy on its own country

Its just sad that he affects other goverments and parts of the world it shouldn't be like that

Well i hate u and u know why?

Australia said mod chips weren't illegal but cause of the stupid US free trade aggrement (seriously its not fair at all with us trying to force everything down out mouths) the convinction was overturned and was made illegal cause of the US goverment stepping inand having a "talk" to our goverment.

PS: The Wii strap IS bullocks - why do you think we've had massive PS3-esque Wii delays? They're scrambling to replace the straps to avoid 3.2 million lawsuits.

I don't see the problem with the wrist straps. I don't wear the wrist strap EVER. And I haven't had my controller flying or damaging anything.

It's just a fact that people love bad news. If there is to many good news they think it's boring. Your not gonna see on CNN that people with a Wii are happy, no you're gonna see some idiot who thought it was necessary to actually throw the Wii-mote while playing baseball

I mean how can you be so damn stupid?

I swong like crazy when I got mine, because I was excited and I didn't have the strap on and nothing broke, the wiimote stayed firmly in my hand the whole time.

I had a feeling that people were going to get hurt and Nintendo would likely get sued, as soon as I heard about the numchuks attachment. The Wii is aimed at young kids and they're the kind of people that swing things around, it was bound to happen. Nintendo's problem was that so many happened in such a short time.

There was something in my local paper about a lady from my area putting her Wiimote through her new tv, because the wrist strap broke. She thought it was kinda funny.

Nintendo should have put something in the owners manual that said they would not be responsable for damage caused by the people playing the Wii.

This was actually avoidable on Nintendo's apart, they should have had the straps attach using a small carabiner or one of those spring loaded clips they use on dog leashes. BUT they just had to use what looks like the DS strap minus the little plastic tab for your thumb. And they decided not to learn from mistakes either, the re-issue straps could have used those little spiral key rings, but they decided just to make the cord a little thicker instead.

The straps are fine tho

Someone tested the straps on how much weight it needed to break then did the calculations on the force required for it to break by throwing it and it is very hard to break by throwing it the wii remote isn't very heavy and doesn't have enough mass for it to break still keep flying forward and embed into a tv (altho an lcd tv who knows probably could crack it)

But the amount of sheer force needed is insane most of these people have either not used the strap when they broke it or didn't put the strap on properly and it flew out of there hands.

Someone on Digg tested this and when the calculations where done you really have to be swinging like mad without holding onto the controller

But im sure there are other things that could contribute like repeated abuse to the strap by throwing it arond or kids twisting the cord around and around aswell but the reports i've seen are adults that have broken the strap and lets face it you can't always trust them to tell the truth that they where a dumbass

It just seems to be blow out by the media and the lawyers trying to get some quick cash with all the other people

I've had a screw remove itself from the metal case of a desktop PC during shipping. I'm not even going to ponder how much force those morons at USPS must have put on it for such a thing to happen. All I know for sure is this: even the strongest thing will find a way to break.

Besides, did any of those Wiimote calculations actually take into account the angular velocity and whatnot when swinging it by its strap? You may need a lot of linear force to snap one of those straps, but the human body can often generate a lot more force than people realize, depending on the circumstances and the type of movement.

My DS straps never broke, but I don't swing my DS like a baseball bat.

I'm going to have to LOL again though at a Wii wand breaking a TV. I bet the wand still worked fine. Nintendo should make TVs?

Thanks for the side-by-side on the strap too. It looks stronger, but just barely. Should be a steel swivel, or caribiner or something on it for sure.

The calculations they did took into account the force that would be needed to break based on someone throwing it at a tv screen.

If the wiimote slides out of your hands the amount of force used to break the strap and still have enough power to travel forward after the remote is slowed down by the strap before breaking is just insane

You really have to be trying your hardest to throw the remote without holding onto it for it to break and go flying forward.

I still believe its idiots who didn't wear the strap and cut the cord so they didn't look like shuch a dumbass.

Least nintendo was offering a beefier strap if you want it before this lawsuit started.

It had to have been product tested to pass thinking they just threw on a strap without thinking people would use more than just a flick of the wrist is silly.
