Where do you make portables?

Post by blackbox_dev »

Well, there was a thread like this a while ago, but its old and there are new members now, so I think this thread is ok. There's also the new "Post yourself" thead, and there's been countless threads on that same subject. In my mind this is no different.

Anyways, post pictures of where you make portables/tinker with electronics/bake cookies/etc.

Here's some pictures of my "neater then usual" table:

I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

I work on an approximately 1' x 1' piece of cardboard on my bed.
Here's the entire workplace:

I work under the stairs in my house along with the storage and a crappy table. And I, like triton am worried about your health so I don't show my workspace.

i do say, you folks have small workspaces!

i should be studying math and not taking pictures, so ill just describe my place of work.

theres a room on our basement called "the workshop" by everyone who lives here. an unfinished room with a concrete floor. id say its about 10 feet by 10 feet. theres 2 workbenches and a table. my mom claims the biggest an highest one, kurt works on the other one, and i take the table. its not technically 'my' space, but i claim it as my own anyways. the entire underneath area of my table is a graveyard for broken systems and other electronics (2 n64 shells, 2 xboxes, a ps2 + lots more). then i have an extensive collection of crap on shelves behind my table. dangerous chemicals, boxes of crap, pieces of my yet-unfinished portable (has it really been more than a year?). shards of plexiglass, nail polish, pieces of a guitar....

and the table itself is usually covered in crap! its pretty clean right now. i have my ATX power supply on the table, and theres a power bar and a soldering iron (when kurt hasnt commandeered it) and there used to be a light. oooh. and a magnifying glass...

yeah thats pretty detailed. im just procrastinating cause i hate math.

ok i guess i will go into further detail

my work area is known by all as "the lab" or as my dad calls it "dexters lab"
its the spare room in our house and its appx 14x10 (including closet) i have an old cheap computer desk with an antique desk chair as a work space and have a garage shelf type thing plus 3 3 drawer rubbermaid storage bins plus many cardboard boxes, the room is used to keep crap in and is insanely messy. BEWARE, here is a pic (not recent but pretty similar) currently it is cleaner has 2 less chairs than that pic and 2 more storage thingies its a real wreck in that pic!

Triton, I'm almost afraid to ask, but what the heck is on the shelf? It looks like a dead squirrel.

I'd post a picture of where I work, but I have no workspace. (hence why I've made no progress on my SNESp for like 2-3 months)

Basically, I used to have this desk I could solder at, but my little brother HAD to have some WWE cage, so I don't have that space anymore. Right now, my Soldering & Desoldering irons & my SNES mobo are under another WWE wrestling ring somewhere else in the room, & my LCD screen & Radio Shack project case (along w/ a SNES controller ribbon cable pinout I drew) are in a box on the other side of the room.
