Possible inexpensive screen

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Possible inexpensive screen

Post by Auken »

I noticed at Wal*Mart earlier that the VideoNow "TV Now" players (PSP-sized pocket equivalent to a TiVo, with composite inputs and an SD card slot) are on sale for $25.

Would it stand to reason, that if the system is designed for recording off of your cable box or whatever, and since it has external A/V composite inputs, that the LCD itself would be driven off the same signals? Ideas? Screen information? Am I a moron for even sugesting this? I MUST KNOW THESE THINGS!

The general consensus is that the quality of the video is horrible, not worth $25 to it use as a screen.

The LCD is probably driven digitally, so you'll have to use the entire unit if you want to use it as a screen, which makes it rather large.
