Heh, the phones at school thing is so true.
When I started college, you'd sit through class, the bell would ring, you'd leave class, and you'd walk across campus having an actual physical conversation with people around you.
When I finished college, the class would usually be interrupted by someone's cell phone ringing at some point. Then the bell did ring, you'd leave class, everyone would walk outside in silence, turn on their phones, check their msgs, and pretty much ignore the people around them.
Point of story: I'm old.
