No sound?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

No sound?

Post by Rellizate »

Hey, I didn't really know whether to post this in the screen area or the PSone area, as I have no idea what is wrong.

Ok here is the senario.

I cut all but the 2 left wires on the left plug of a psone screen (7.2v in and ground) and all but the 3 left most wires on the right plug (video.right audio, left, audio). At this point I suddenly got a feeling that I had done something wrong. I reread the chapter on the Psone by hand in ben's book and I am sure I had cut the right wires off. I plugged the AV plug into the Psone AV-out jack(not desoldered yet). And sure enough something was wrong. There was no sound at all, but the video worked fine. I knew that I had cut the correct wires, so I thought that maybe, somehow if I acutally soldered the wires to the pins on the mobo (insted of using the av in jack) the sound would work again.

I then delsoldered the av-out jack on the PSone, and wired up the 3 wires from the right plug on the psone, and the 2 leftmost wires from the left plug on the PSone screen to the correct terminals on the motherboard. I turned it on, a what do you know?

No sound, but perfect video. Does anyone know what is wrong? Is their a fuse I need to jump or something?
:S

Help please.
