What's wrong with my SNES?

What's wrong with my SNES?
The power light turns on, but the audio or video doesn't output. What can I do? Would it be more worth it to get a new one than to search for a Nintendo screwdriver to open it?

are you sure that someone hadn't played with the TV cables? or the channel is right on both the TV and SNES? maybe your TV isn't connected properly.

How many games have you tested this on?
Try cleaning your cartridge pins. For games, simply take a wet q-tip in there and swab it down. If that doesn't work, try some rubbing alcohol. Oh, and make sure it's dry before you turn it on!
As for cleaning the cartridge conenctor itself, take a paper towel that's been moistened with rubbing alcohol. Wrap it around a playing card, or something that's sturdy but skinny. Wipe the insides clean, then dry it/let it dry. Hope that helps!
