looks to be a smart fourtwo, they might actually be available in the us next year sometime i think. they are either gas or electric, i saw one with a hayabusa streetbike engine, that was awesome (300hp 1.3l 4 cylinder motor!) i want a smart coupe, but they arent made anymore and cost like 15-18 grand anyway

Why? Besides the ridiculous amount of work involved, why replace the stock engine with a thumpy v-twin, with probably half the power?dman762000 wrote:I think popping a harley moter in it would be cool.
A Hayabusa or R1 motor? Now you're talking! Still probably WAY more work than it's worth, though.

I was reading somewhere that they would be only $9000-$12,000 in the US. I don't remember where I was reading that, though.jones wrote:They are supposed to start selling them in the US late in 2007. They are ridiculously priced though for what you get. You could probably fit one in your living room without having to move any furniture.

That's still not a whole lot for your money.
Wouldn't they have to do some serious work on the frame to make it passable in our safety tests here in the US? Such tiny things would be obiterated by the enormous land yachts they drive around here. Ever see the episode of MythBusters where they crushed a car between 2 semis? It would look something like that.
