Problems with the shop channel/WiiConnect24

Post by iX NES Xi »

Ive been having a problem with connecting to the Wii Shop channel as of late. Ive ran the newest update, as well as reconfigured the internet connection and the same error keeps occuring saying to try again, although when i run a connection test it says it sucessful. Does anyone know what might be causing this problem?

The server probably went down for a couple hours.

EDIT: Wait, no, I just switched my browser's agent to that of the Wii's & checked the server, it's still up.

how do you switch the agent to that of the Wii's?

Edit: I've read in another forum of another person having the same problem as I am, he says that Nintendo concluded that he has a faulty console and it is being replaced, I guess I'll wait and see if it gets to that or I'll try connecting it "wired-ly"

Well in FF, there's an extension called 'User Agent Switcher'. Here's the agent:

Code: Select all

Opera/9.00 (Nintendo Wii; U; ; 1038-58; Wii Shop Channel/1.0; en)
The URL to the Wii Shop channel is http://oss.wii.shop.com/ , but you can't do anything. You can only navigate by switching the URL's in the address bar manually.

I tried hooking it up wired to my router with a USB-Ethernet adapter I have, it didnt work b/c it turns out only Nintendo's will (says the instruction manual) I then tried it wirelessly and it works good for now I just hope that it will continue to work good
