Wii dock concept

Well I quickly mocked up a Wii dock in Sketchup and decided i'd show it here. Now I might actually build this so no one copy me But if you wanna give some input feel free!



EDIT: If anybody knows of a fairly decent screen for the wii at a good price let me know...

I've just been looking around the net, and came across
this screen What do you guys think?

I'd hold out, as Intec (I think it was intec) is releasing a screen specifically for Wii, with a built-in sensor bar.

It's all over the web, but here's a link for the lazy! It looks like it's 7 inches, with about every input under the sun.

Me likey. Quite a lot, in fact.

However, a little constructive criticism: First, you'll want to be able to plug in GCN controllers. So you could cut a hole in the side (and remove the GCN port flaps). Also, more of an aesthetic problem than a functional problem: The Wii, from disc slot to ports, is longer than the from the GCN ports to the fan side. This is a personal preference, but I intended to make my Wii dock have a laptopish configuration. So I came up with a solution: Flip the Wii 90 degrees (such that the GCN ports would be facing the front).

As you can see in this image, there are two parts on the side that don't fold open. So you could support it from falling forward by having two sturdy pieces of plastic there. I dunno. I'll have a mockup within a week.

That's exactly the picture I had in my head when I heard "Wii Dock." But I think the sensor bar should be taken apart, and the two halves be on the left and right of the screen. That way it would be more accurate at close distances.
