cd questions

I recently got a sega cd for my gen2

And well I am haing some trouble getting it to work

I need to know what I may be missing (It came by itself)
Also, an intallation guide may be helpful as well

What kind is it, the flip-top that goes on the side, or the one that attaches to the bottom?

I think you ou need 2 ac power supplies, one for the genny and another for the sega cd. I don't have one so I can't say for certain though.

Do you have a RAM cart? If you want to play Sonic CD & the like, you'll probably want to get one.

ok My issue is that I didn't get a power cord, so I want to know what value it required, as well as whether the positive is on the outside or the inside (some companies switch them just to piss me off it seems)

Also, there is a matter in how everything is supposed to run, How do I initiate the CD ... what needs to be out to run....that kinda thing

From what I remember if you have an NES or another Genesis AC power supply that should work. You can double check on the bottle of the console it should have electrical input information, but again 10v should be enough. Other then that you do need the Genesis, the Sega CD well it should be able to be a standalone system it wasn't designed that way.

OK I checked the power supply and I have a wall wort that is at the required voltages and amps

Now my issue is that when I cut on the genesis the cd just sits there, no LED nothing...the genesis just plays and that is it

Now I need to know how the genesis initiates the sega cd so I may tes the cart slot on the genesis to see if it is the genesis or if it is the cd (leaning towards the second)

what are some common repairs to the cd? (I'v check the internal battery and it reads 2.33 volts...is that a problem?)

Also, is the power outlet positive outsideand ground inside? or the usual way?

anyone know of more recommon repairs?

PS the fuse was blown anyway
