Well, as for gripes, the digital stick is a royal pain to use, and the system can do little more game-wise then emulate games we've all been emulating on our PC's for ten years. Furthermore, most batteries do not offer very much play time before needing a recharge, or replacement. I got maybe 3 or 4 hours on average, without overclocking, playing Gen and Snes emulators. I guess it depends on the person, but I realized real quick that I was barely touching the 2x, which is why I sold it in favor of a DS.
I've had experience with GBO, GBC, GBA / SP, PSP, GP2X, and DS. The only ones I found worth owning were the GBO, GBC, GBA, and DS. If you are used to playing some high-quality, professional production games, than the GP2x probably isn't for you.

Well the GPSP ( gba emu ) was just released for the 2x and is supposed to be nice already. The stick seems to be more trouble on the MK1 s but if you just orderd your gonna get a mk2 and those are nice. I have had two complaints except the controls on Duke Nukem for 2x and only getting about 6 hours of life for me.

hes right about the stick in the mk1s the bias (bigger contact points) were in the diagonal directions in the mk2s it was changed to an ordinal bias (or was it vice versa, cant remember)so its easier to use than the old ones plus the new caps are much better than the old ones, there are emulators for just about every single pre PSX system it has some great homebrew games and a few commercial games coming that look awesome! batterylife is usualy 4-6 hours depending on what you use it for with 2500mah AAs

I actually did a d-pad mod in my gp2x, but to be honest it didnt need it. I was happy with the stick (and i think the stick actually works WAAAAY better for NeoGeo fighters than dpads). The only reason i did the dpad mod was... well just because i like to tinker with electronics.
If there are any Descent fans on here, there is a super sweet interpreter thats being released an December 24th. There are already videos of it, and it brought back a lot of memories for me.

From what I've heard about the GP2X, it doesn't do much that the PSP doesn't, and tge psp has better commercial games (which you can get for free as well). I have a psp and am quite happy with it, though I've never owned a GP2X.

Actually there's a modified 2.71 Firmware out there that lets you load ISO's straight from the game menu and more emulators are able to run in 2.71 each day. As for the espensive media.... Well I can't argue with that. However a 4 gig memstick holds on average 9 games for me.paul4990 wrote:psp = Devhooking to death, loading another exploit, downgrading, expensive media etc
