An LCD screen has a transparent part that the image appears on. My idea is to take two infrared LED's and put them directly behind the LCD, but not in front of the white thing used to reflect the backlight. This way, the IR lights can shine straight though the screen into the Wiimote's IR camera (That's how it works, FYI) and it would be super accurate at close distances, which considering the screen is small, and it's a laptop, you would be close to it. Would that work?

So now, instead of the Wiimote pointing at a bar on top of the screen, it's pointing AT the screen!
