Playstation controller for PC

Does anyone know of any working mods for converting PS dualshock (or standard PS gamepad) to PC? I would also be interested in any mods for converting any (NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2) controller to PC via USB, 15 pin gameport, or LPT. Thanks!

there are ways and drivers too hook all those controllers up to a computer, but psx and snes are by far the easiest. n64 is the hardest. this method works for ps1 and ps2 controllers. the winXP driver is called psxpad i think.

Sometimes you can catch the PS2/N64 to USB adapters on Ebay for $10. I have a couple of those laying around. If you want the vibrate to work though you have to be careful when you buy those. Just because they say "Dual Shock" compatible, doesn't mean that the vibrate works. They have to specifically say that the vibrate functions works. If they don't mention vibrate, or they don't CLEARLY say that it works then I guarantee that it won't work. Truthfully, Xbox controllers are the easiest thing to attach to a PC and have everything including vibrate working by simply splicing 4 wires.

I actually just picked up a ps2 to usb adaptor from RadioShack today for like $12. I haven't used it on anything that has vibration functionality as of yet but when I do I'll tell you if it works. the adaptor comes with a driver installation CD and all.

Nope, no vibration function, but if you ask me vibration really doesn't add much to your gaming experience.

where can you find a parallel port? I have a PS1 Controller lying here and I dont have anything to do with it (I sold my PSOne)

Are you talking about a plug to plug into the computer?

Or where it is on the computer?

But a parallel port is basically the same thing as a printer port, just a different name.

Wow, RatShack has these things? Never knew that! I may have to run down there and see what they have!
