Which emulators do you use?

Post by Mageslayer »

I'm looking for emulators for the PS1, PS2, Gamecube and XBOX. I'm looking for the best ones, preferably ones that can play ISOs AND actual discs from your CD drive. I'm only asking for emulators, not ROMS. Thanks.

PS: Do gamecube discs rip to .iso files or to a different format?

NES - Nesticle
SNES - ZSNES
N64 - Project 64

EDIT: Oh, nevermind

The best PSX emulator is epsxe, but it needs the BIOS ROM file if you want it to accomplish anything. (Not linking here. Not linking in PMs. Don't anybody ask me, either. :P)

As far as I can tell, emulators are legal to have. ROM files are not. (Both game and BIOS roms)

I know it's illegal to give out the BIOS file, I wasn't gonna ask for that. Thanks for suggesting epsxe though. :D

Apparently there is a PS2 emulator called PCSX2. Unsure of it's quality b/c you'd prolly need a bad ass computer to run it and mine is garbage. Disgaea 2 and Onimusha run fine though apparently.

When I had a PS1 emulator, I used AdriPSX because it's the easiest one to get working. ZSNES is best for SNES.

EDIT: I just downloaded AdriPSX and it's really glitchy now. I dunno.

When I try to run a game in ePSXe, it says I have no WGL extension. What's that? How do I fix it?

Gamecube - Dolphin
Xbox - Cxbx and Xeon, don't expect to do much!

Oh and in the future, just go to Zophar's Domain.

While my feelings on emulators are well known, I still use them.

I like:

NeoRage (before I built my arcade)
MAME Win32 version
Gens (Genesis)
