Revealed: Wii demo as Download Wii owners with Internet connection will
be able themselves to download demo versions of Wii plays. The
assumption gave it already longer, now is official it: Apart from
Virtual CONSOLE plays Wii fans with Internet entrance will be able to
download also demo versions of Wii titles. One can store the demos then
either in 512 MT the large Flashram of the console or on a separately
available SD-map. Which demos make the beginning, Nintendo wants
shortly admits to give.

However, this could be true. Broken-controllers has reported that:
Wii owners with Internet connection will be able to download demo
versions of Wii games. The rumor existed for a long time but now it’s
official. Demos to be stored on Internal 512MB memory or external
memory (SD card or USB hard drive). Nintendo will reveal soon which
will be the first demos.

If this is true then Sweet! I hope Nintendo can get us a Super Mario Galaxy demo, although my one quarrel would have to be the storage space limitations, but an SD card will clear that up so....yey
I noticed it said "or a USB hard drive" I was thinking about the possibility of using a USB hard drive on the Wii, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried it yet

This is definitely something to look forward to/hope for. Only problem I see is the space issue. I mean a one gig SD card isn't all that expensive, but I can't see Nintendo wanting to make everyone who wants demos buy an SD card. I do remember hearing something about DS demos being fed from the Wii, which would be plausable with Wii's Wifi and DS's small file sizes.

It's not that Nintendo wants to make everyone buy SD cards and USB flash memory; it's Nintendo's "average Joe" approach. These are 2 commonly accepted memory storage devices that the average person readily uses, just like Nintendo's target audience: The average person. That, and the fact that Nintendo is now making their own SD cards to boost their own personal revenue.

Apparently this is how you get USB HDD to work, though many have said it doesn't.
Here are the rules for you to use an external USB hard-Drive.
1- Be sure to have the latest Wii firmware: (To have your wii actualized)
2- Format the USB hard Drive to FAT32
3- Max 120GB (Though some website claims that a 300GB hard drive works too)
4- Remove Any SD card form the SD slot
The Wii should detect your USB hard drive as an SD card and you'd be able to use your External hard drive as storage (Virtual console, Game Saves...) just as it was an SD card.
