Radica rom to cart difficulties

I've just got the rom chip off of one of my many radicas. I'm trying to add the chip to a sonic 1 cart. I think i've put together the pins correctly but it doesn't run on my original megadrive 1. I probably haven't done my wiring properly but just in case is there anything else I need to do?

1. Took the rom out of the radica
2. Opened up sonic 1 cart
3. Took off sonic 1 rom
4. Attached radica rom with wires to corresponding cart connector pins
