Two Electronics Questions

Post by blackbox_dev »

Well, me and Jeroen are currently working on a seeeeeeeeecret project, and I need some questions answered.

Number 1: Is it possible to interface a PC floppy drive to a PIC or other microcontroller, and if it is possible, where on the internet can I find info, schematics, source code, etc. for it?

Number 2
: Where on the web can I find schematics for the IBM PC or compatible computers (legally, of course :P )

Hope to hear back from some of the more technically-inclined soon! :D

1. Theoretically, yes. Practically, it's not worth it. Look here for the gameboy floppy hack. Not simple.
But there's guaranteed to be a better way. How about serial flash memory?

2. I couldn't find any online. Your best bet is to find an old IBM 8088 PC manual on eBay and look in the back for the schematics.
