Generic N64 game

Post by ganonbanned »

today I went to eb games and asked if they still sold N64 games. they said that they still did, but they kept them behind the counter. they gave me a list of the games. I quickly scanned over the games, and threw the list in my bag. Now looking at the list, I see

Generic N64 game
Price 4.99

does anyone have any idea what this is?

Checked GameFAQS, no such game.

I'd say if they didn't have the game in their system, that's like the way they have of keeping an inventory of those kinds of games or some goofball thing like that. I think I got my gamecube demo cd for all of the zelda games for 5 bucks that way at gamecrazy. The clerks on shift that day didn't even know they had it and I almost had to throw down when they didn't want to cough it up. :/

No as in, from what the common price for an average (as in not rare) N64 game is 4.99. And the game in question was probably generic (maybe they called it that not knowing the actual name, and played it and it was say...Banjo Kazooie, they labeled it generic) and the price for the (generic) is 4.99.

It may just be a blanket term used for any unidentifyable game. Like, if they ever get a game that they can't identify, then they sell it for 4.99. Or if it's a game that doesn't have it's own specific price listing.

I'd say that it's for a game that they have in the store that's not specifically on the list.

Maybe generic means like some games that are very common. Like Mario 64 or Goldeneye.

Those actually aren't that common in stores because everyone likes them. :D
I'd guess it is a sports or wrestling game, they could sell those by the pound (if anyone would buy them).

This thread makes me cry for the english language. Generic is NOT the name of a game. Definition of generic: Relating to or common to or descriptive of all members of a genus; That means that it is a game that is "Generic" meaning they don't know the price of the game (So they put 4.99 on it) or don't know what the game is. It's the basic n64 game.

Like I said. It's any N64 game they happen to have that's not on the list.
