2600 Case Mod?? UPDATED WITH NEW PICS!!!

Just sanded the bondo using the finer and finer grades of sandpaper and it turned out like glass. This will be one heck of a mod when it's done.

technically any and all Atari portables are case mods... just from scratch

don't forget to add something for airflow since the grooves of the Atari have holes for that

I think you're thinking of the speaker slits, I noticed those when I opened mine up. I read on the internet that Atari made a bunch of cases with speaker holders on the inside, but then never ordered speakers. That explains the slits on the case and the holders on the inside.

It's pretty much done, sanded, primed, and has it's first coat of paint. I'm thinking of applying a second coat of black and red, then a final clear coat to give it sheen. I'll post up pictures of the final Project.

hey I know thta everything will probably be ok but I am a cooling nut... I think everything needs to run at 32 degrees and do so without moisture...you know the perfect condiditons of electricity...

I have an Atari 2600 Vader case, would I be able to fill in the ridges on the top with bondo or something and paint it up. The reason I'm asking is because I afriad of making it look like crap if I can't sand the bondo flat right. Also what color should I paint it. I was thinking Krylon X Metals Red or Blue. Then I was thinking of buying a board from Best Electronics.ca or whatever the site is and hardwiring in a RGA Game switcher.

What do you think.

OK, It's almost done, it's come along way since the start. I applied the final coat of black over the bondo. You guys will love this thing already even without the red on it. It's dark in the midwest so I tried the best I could to get good pictures. I took them on a guest bedroom bed with the lights and camera flash on. The pictures are OK, but I'm gonna get some better ones in the morning on the living room carpet. The link to the page with the pictures on it is below, I hope you guys like this. I know, this will be awesome. Do you know the homebrew game Atari OS, the GUI for the 2600? It will be so cool to use that homberew GUI on the Atari 2600.

I Know, this is just paint job #1, people wanted some pictures and I figured this would be the time to do it. I'll take some pictures after I put on the red too.
