Portable N64 design, need input.

Aluminium is really soft, you can even use a lot of wood tools on it if you don't have anything else.

Isnt Dr. V64 for home brewing? I don't have interest in doing any of that.

For the case I'm gonna try to get more information on all three forms and possable crosses to fiugre out what I want...

with just bondo spot putty and a few coats of black paint (ive done a bit more sanding and painting since that pic tho)

also just realized those pics are horrible quality, ill take a new one later and put it in a new thread

DR. V64 is a back-up device...It plays ROMs on CDs...Back-up Roms...Legal ROMs

Anyway the fiberglass and bondo hing is just too iffy for me o ahead if you think so (The reason I say that is because bondo and fiberglass are two differnt materials compared to the welding of aluminum which is one, I know this sounds like OCD but there is a structural thing in here...bondo is strong and I would use it to smoothen out the final poduct since it is easily painted with acrylic enamel and can be made smooth as Kojak's noggin...see I just think of things on the chemical level as well as the physical)

I had read Dr. V64 was for game dev, but still, I'm running pretty low on money. (Actualy, I always am)

And for the multiple material thing, it doesnt sound like OCD

(I have OCD) But a material doesnt have to attach to make a strong connection.)

Sofar what sounds most logical for me is plastic, but aluminum is what I actualy want. So more information on both is appreciated

The Dr. V64 does sound good, but there is only 3 games that I really want. So it just wouldent be worth it for me. (I always carry around a large number of things in my pockets, so its not like 2 extra cartridges will bother me)

And I really dont know what I'm gonna make the case out of, but I (As in Me) will be the one to make it. (I need to learn sometime)

just wondering... did you factor in the size of the N64 mobo to your design? It can be cut down only a little and its size can foil any previous plans. also, make sure you think about not having an onboard controller. It may seem like a good idea now but turns out to be a pain later (just drawing on my own experiences here

).

Yes, I factored everything in. The render I showed isn't correctly proportioned, doesn't matter much though, seeing as I made it to convey my consept.

And if I wanted this to be hand held, I would make it hand held. Simple as that.

I had a very similar design in mind. I would love to see you complete your portable like this. I may just wait until your done until I make mine like this, just to see what problems you run into. Good luck!
