CRT Monitor Help

Hey, I just got a CRT security monitor from a museum I work at. They were throwing them out and the owner of the museum said I could keep it. So I did. I was surprised because the monitor (Not a TV, you can't plug in cable) had composite video! So I hooked up my NES and played! The only problem is that the monitor had been looking at the same image for probably close to ten years. The museum windows are burned into the screen! Is there any way to fix this? It's very annoying. Or will I have to just deal with windows in the Mushroom Kingdom?

Nope, there's no way to fix it.

There is ONE way to fix it, by burning in an exact opposite image. This isn't really a fix, & it makes the screen really dim.

My composite monitor (has a BNC connector; I have an RCA adapter) which I use along w/ an amp & speakers in place as a TV, has some text burnt into the bottom of the screen, but since it's some small text, it's ignorable.

Your burn in sounds more serious; almost in-ignorable. You can find good composite monitors for $10 these days, so I wouldn't worry too much...

I can ignore it, it's not that bad. On games with black backgrounds like Galaga and Donkey Kong, I can't even notice

But hey, it was free, what I am I gonna do?
