This is SO much more interesting than the shiny case videos. When does the Wii get popped open on the net?
Also, the Intercooler is crap. Read the page 2 post about problems with it. Microsoft reccomended Pelican's air stand. That beats the Intercooler, but it's far from the best. Those 50 dollar highspeed internal replacement fans from Llamma are the best you can buy. But watercooling might be even better. IDK. Heck, you could even do both the highspeed fan AND watercooling. And there's also that guy who built his 360 into a PC case, and said that the drastically increased ventilation caused a noticeable (positive) impact on gameplay performance.
(I've been alternating between viewing and commenting). So, the PS3 has been popped open on the first day of launch. Nice! The layout looks completely different from the 360.
I think more proprietary components were used to accomodate the curved, convex shape. And that central silver piece with the large fan looks like it might be not even be neccessary in a custom redesign, like a PS3 laptop.
Will you make one Ben? I'd like to hear your stance and ideas on portable/laptop PS3s and Wiis. How about it?
Someone, maybe Ben, will undoubtedly watercool the PS3 at some point. With watercooling, the Zanzibar windmill-sized
fan and the large silver casing could be removed, allowing for some good size reduction. Well, I've seen all the amazing vids, now it's homework time!
PS - Here's to hoping the Wii is cracked on launch day! Less than two days remain before the US becomes the first recepients of the Wii! But I still want a black one. Maybe I'll search for a Revolution prototype on eBay
