I took apart my now old alarm clock and pulled out a tranformer with the positive and common from the outlet being turned into 3 wires = 2 red, 1 white. I tried to tell the voltage and what was common with a voltameter, but every connection between the 3 wires gave either 6 or 12 positive volts. I want to run the clock off batteries and I know that it shouldn't take mcuh amperage at all, but I just can't figure out the wires. It's fairly small transformer with the code on it's side being:

It is possibly a center-tap transformer. Hold onto that, because it is the most rare and expensive component when making an inverter.Super Mulletman wrote:Sorry, but I'm currently camera-less.
