does Ps1 screen have 7805?

Does a ps1 screen have a 7805? If it does, does that mean you could take it out and use it elseware and just run 5 volts to the screen? And if it does have a 7805, why does it tell you to make a voltage regulation circuit with one in Ben's book?

It contains two 7805's actually, but they are used for audio... I think...

No, but one can't handle it all. (I personally power my 5v systems off of the PSONE screen 7805, great idea, actually)

i believe that there are two of them because they are not heatsinked (other than being soldered to the PCB). they could handle more current, but it would cause undesireable amounts of heat, so they divided the load in two.

the psone screen has one chip on it that requires 7 or so volts. i think its something important to the video, that answer has already been posted in these forums somewhere.

you could take off the two 7805s and input 5v from some other regulator. just make sure you are still giving it around 7.5v in the main power input.

powering a 5v system off the 7805? works, but if its anything other than a *OAC then id be worried about too much current frying something. i think that might be how kurt systematically destroyed his 7805s

If that's all true, then why does it tell you to use one in Ben's book? There is a 7805 going to the screen. If there is already 2 on audio, and none needed for the screen, then why?
