mini portable amp is done!

I was bored yesterday so I took the speakers out of a broken TV and got an amp from an annoying toy and put them together to make an amp. It's not the most powerful or good looking amp in the world but it may be be the best one made on a $0 budget in one day

. Here's some pics because I know everybody is just dying to see a little wooden box with some orange on one side

The speakers are 5w each but the amp is pretty tiny so I'm surprised it's as loud as it is. Maybe that's a good thing because it hardly takes any power to run. here's the amp I used.

that's pretty sick, i've been trying to figure out what to do with this broken boom box, this seems like a pretty nice idea. good job.

How loud does it seem to get ?

it's about as loud as an alarm clock radio. maybe a bit louder

It kinda looks like a brick from the top.

I bet you can make it louder by putting tubes in front of the speakers. I have an old el crapola radio a friend gave me, and putting the cheap speaker inside a tube made quite a difference! (I just cut the front off a cereal box and wrapped it around the speaker.)
