I played the Wii today. It was incredible. 30 minutes of Excite Truck and Wii Sports, and I kicked a ton of college kid's asses at both. By the time we were done, a rather large crowd had formed, and even people who you wouldn't expect to play games were "oohing" and "aahing". After me and the guys who were there were done and about to hand in our Wiimotes for our ID, a mob of people rushed up to us asking to play. Too bad the suckers didn't have the collateral for the Wiimote!

But yeah, I'm DEFINITELY getting one on launch day now. I really think this thing is going to change the way we play games forever. To all the doubters, what the hell are you doing reading this? Go play the Wii right now!

I got a chance to try it, found it kind of lame. The whole moving to play thing got boring fast.

No, Wii beat PS3 by almost 10 million.

If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.

Anyway, even though the store demo was great, I'm not getting one on launch day; I can't get enough money in time. Plus, I'm holding out for the black one to become available. Wasn't black the default color a long time ago anyway? Like, back when it was still the Revolution and nobody knew squat about the controller?

I know, I was joking, I'm not THAT stupid. Also, you forgot to capitalize the first word in your sentence.

I hope there is one at the store saturday when I go to buy it. Do most places require a pre-order to get one the day they are out?

Wowaweewa, I just spent a good time allotment playing gamespots Wii! The experience was....unique but definetly nothing like I expected it to be. (In both a bad way and a good way) Here's my review of the Wii:

System:
Holy mother of popsicles in spoons that is one sleek console. It looks absolutely beautiful and tiny at that. Nice shiny white surface and makes the Xbox 360 look like an overfed tampon. (Although I do like the 360, Gears of War FTW!) I like how it goes for the simplistic design and what not. It definetly will NOT look out of place under my TV. Although I fear that if I use my projector that the sensor bar cable will not be sufficient and come on, no DVD's AND no CD play. Seriously WTF this isnt the 20th century Ninty.......Its the 21st where refrigerators have TV's and where you can play air guitar with a shirt (http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/13/bad- ... al-guitar/)
9/10

Controller:
This was amazing to me, seeing it in my hand for the first time. When they first displayed the controller and stated that it would be roughly the size of a TV remote I took a gander at my remote and thought that it would be too uncomfortable(sp?) to hold for such a period of time. Much to my amazment I found it to be approximetly the size of my cell phone! Nice sleek and shiny just like the console. The weight was perfectly distributed and overall I loved the look of the controller. Although i wondered if the controller might be too small for some hands and found out the reaching the 1 and 2 buttons from a verticle position of the Wiimote is quite a challenge.
8.5/10

Game:
EXCITE TRUCK:
-------------------------------------
Graphics:
To get the ball rolling, the terrain(sp?) looks stunning. When you attempt a monstrous jump you can literally see for miles and miles. Textures looked brilliant in motion. Particle effects were particularly nice with mud and water working smoothly. The truck models leave something to be desired though. When chosing my truck I took a quick stare at them and found them to be quite "rigid" and a few jaggies appeared too. Although most of this was definetly not visible when in motion in the game. Speaking of motion, the motion blur effects were stunning and gave a natural sense of speed. It is quite evident that this game could definetly not be accomplished on a Gamecube.
9/10

Controls:
I could sum up this portion with one word "eh", but I wont (well I did but too bad) I dont know if It was just me, or if the Wiimote sensitivity was up high or maybe God just hates me. (I swear Man, that time at lunch was an ACCIDENT :P ) but I just could not find nirvana with the controls. The controller was designed to be twisted and turned in giant arcs and swings, but i quickly found out that doing so resulted in the imminent death of your truck. So I had to conform to slight movements of my wrist and even then found out that even with a slight increase in your tilt could veer your behemoth of course. The one thing the Wiimote was supposed to enchance, it squandered. It seems to me that I would've enjoyed it much more if I had a analog stick, but I absolutely loved the freedom of movement the Wiimote gives you. Its nice that if I want to turn left I can literally turn left not just push a button or twist my thumb left. Just because either I sucked or the sensitivity on the system was tweaked up I wont give it a 6.
6.1/10........................................J/K

7/10

Extras:
I notice the speaker in the controller was actually put to use thats a pro. And honestly I did say wow when I saw the graphics (I just said it in my head though) They really DID put an "xbox+" into a dvd case. (I'm not saying this in a bad way)

EXCITE TRUCK OVERALL:

It can. I was crashing all over the place in Excite Truck until I tweaked the settings, then it worked perfectly.

As far as the controller complaints go, I personally thought it was flawless. Do you have tiny hands, as I reached the 1 and 2 buttons with no problem. And when I measured the spacing, it was nearly identical to that of an NES controller (I made a broken one into a wallet, so I used that to check)
