Battery on water?

I saw something on the news about a Japanese inventor who invented a battery that works on Carbonite and Water. Apparently this gives some sort of chemical reaction which has the ablitiy to generate an electrical current.

Does anyone have any more information about this? It sounds really interesting...

What's the chemical structure of this "carbonite", as I know its not any element I know so it must be a compound.

I translated it wrong... It's actually Carbon but in Dutch it's called Koolstof so yeah

Anyway, I can't find anything about it (the battery that is)...
