First PS3 commercials

Post by NES_fanatic »

I was watching the simpsons tonight and this incredibly creepy commercial for Playstation 3 just came on.

It was an empty white box room with a baby doll and the PS3 on opposite sides. Then it zooms in on the baby's eyes and you see reflections of PS3 gameplay in them, and the baby's crying.

Then the baby cries backwards and all the tears suck in. Then you hear in a really unnerving voice "Maaaaa.... ma..."

A slogan showed on screen, but I forgot what it said, "Play" somtehing.

Overall, a deeply unsettling experience. Anyone else watching the Simpsons see it?

Makes you want to spend $599 US dollars.
Seen them about a week ago on YouTube. The commercials are absolutely horrible.

I just saw another.
It's the same room, but now the PS3 picked up a rubik's cube, solved it, and exploded it.

I also saw the slogan is "play beyond"

And it looks like it has a launch date two days before Wii. Somebody's intimidated.

wow, wouldn't it be nice instead if instead they, oh i don't know, just showed some useful footage of their game system in action? that thing's coming out pretty soon (understatement) and they expect us to buy one sight unseen?

well I guess with their production numbers selling through their current supply won't be too difficult, but maybe if somebody (anybody) tried just a little bit to pull me into the next gen, I might have at least a little excitement for it. Right now I have total apathy--it's the 'I suppose I have to upgrade again' generation. ads featuring nothing but hype aren't helping.

Yeah they really dont make much sense. What bothers me about the PS3 can be good and bad at the same time. It seems you can install the games on the hard drive. Doesnt that just make it the same as a computer? If I wanted that feature I would buy a gaming computer...
