Commodore 64, and various hacks

Post by adric22 »

For those who haven't seen the C64 DTV unit (which is a great toy to hack!) go here:

galaxy22.dyndns.org/dtv

To see a lot of various units people have created from this toy, look here:

I'm surprised Ben has never made a portable from this.

Of course, I'm building a spaceship in my backyard and needed some computer consoles that were easy to hack and reprogram. The website hasn't been updated in a while and I've progrressed way beyond what you see here.. but here is the website:

We have over 50 threads mentioning the DTV, and many have all the hacks linked to.

Sorry, just found this forum. I briefly scanned all the headlines and I didn't see any reference to the DTV. In fact, I saw every 8-bit system mentioned except the Commodore.. granted, I didn't do a search and maybe I should have.

I think your project is pretty neat. You aren't a nut trying to build a real spacecraft, but neither are you merely building a metal box. In fact, this is starting to sound more like an experiment in electrical engineering than a mere project, what with all the automated electrical equipment you're talking about.

Hey, nice to see you over here, David :)

I'm pretty sure Ben has something planned for the C64, but he was frustrated with the Hummer's lack of a joystick.

Reading the Petscii forum, the game hacks by expertsetup seem to solve that problem, and I shall soon be making a C64 laptop as well :)

Yeah, Ben mentioned that he would like a IDE64 adapter a few months ago, *hint*
