I'm sorry but I don't believe that. Well you could get something like 480i (or whatever it is) out of the PS2 as it does offer VGA I don't think it can push something like 1080i or 1080p. I'm not even sure if High Definition was really seen as something useful or possible with the PS2 when it was being developed in '98.

Yeah that seems like a bunch of crap... I run my PS2 at 480p with component cables on my 720p/1080i projector, and it looks just fine

It's not. Thanks for a meaningful post.

I doubt that this thing actually works to full extent, I think it would give you nasty quality. 1080i isn't as good as 480p, anyways. ;)

Reference to Nintendo not including HD. :)

Gran Turismo 4 and Tourist Trophy, both produced by Polyphony Digital of Sony Co Ltd., are the only PS2 games that natively support 1080i HD resolution.

They had to do a LOT to squeeze all that into the 4MB video RAM. Hats off to streaming.

Everything else would have to be upconverted, which pretty much defeats the purpose.

The PS2 cannot push 1080i. I'm sorry, it just could not push that many pixels. I am referring to the GT thing, btw.

Well, it's visuals sucked anyway, so it makes sense.
