Yeah, that's what I said

Couldn't display "/dev/hdb2"

Means that it can't find a second partition on your second harddrive. Just remove the line starting with "/dev/hdb2" in fstab

Oh crap, sorry. I thought I wrote hdb1...

Only 1 partition... I couldnt get to hdb1...

Then check your fstab and make sure the folder where you're mounting it to exists. You should also make sure that the format in fstab is set to vfat for it. If that doesn't help then it's some sort of cabling or jumper problem.

I use FC2 on my production server. Despite the fact that I also use it as a learning tool (do NOT use both apt-get and yum!), its worked flawlessly for months. SSH, Webmin, IRC, FTP, Samba, Apache, all the goodies. I wouldnt use FAT32 for anything if you can avoid it. EXT3 or ReiserFS are 10,000x more sophisticated and stable. If you need to exchange stuff with Windoze boxen, use Samba.

tell me distros and I can tell you what is good/out of date/easy to use/everything else about them, I have installed all mainstream ones. I am personally using red hat 9 and fedora core 3.

I think thats all of them... I would really like the distro to have KDE, bacause I just cant get a hold on Gnome... its too Mac-like for me. andI have never had a good experience with a mac.

fedora uses kde too, but you can also install it with a gnome/kde mixed enviroment.

Yeah, that's one of the features I loved about RH. You could choose when you start up. I gotta find out how to use gnome in SuSE, since I'd like to try it out.

Yeah I read about Gnome and KDE comparison. I will say this, if you like Gnome better you should still keep KDE as it seems to have more programs that are writen for it. One thing that Gnome lakes compared to KDE is a file management (or something like that). Its been awhile sence I've used Knoppix, but I think Flaxbox is most like it. (KDE that is), and it the most windows like I've seen.

Yeah, I forgot the exact spelling as I havent frequent the Damnsmalllinux forum for almost a year. There is also another site that if you want peoples info or opinion about a distro, try linuxquestions.org. I havent been there ether but its a great place to get info. I even found a well of info on the fable PSX linux.

gnome does have file management, it's called nautelus. It's horrible compared to Konqueror though.
