New cart slot for Super Joy... Easiest way?

Well, Here is my dilemma. I am building a NOAC portable and I want to have a good ol' 72-pin USA cart port on it instead of the japanese one. I have a Family Converter that lets me play US games on the super joy and I have a plain 72-pin card edge connector that would connect to the NES card edge, however it does not fit into the little slot area at the bottom of the NES Cart due to some screw holes sticking out on the sides.

These photos show the card edge connector I am talking about compared to an NES cart.

And yes, I know my desk is a mess in the background there.

What do you guys think? If I shave off the screw holes, the NES cart will still envelop the whole thing, including some of the pin length. Should I use the family converter? Should I use a real nes connector, like one of the replacement ones they sell on ebay?

And what is the best way to connect the connector to the super joy? Am I really going to have to sauter 60+ wires? Is there a better way?

I am looking for any good advice. Thanks to anyone who responds

I would just shave of the screw holes.

Where did you get that 72 pin connector? I have several Family converters but every time that I try and desolder them they break or something goes wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Dremel the end off.

I'd just get some hedge clippers to get the majority of them off, then get a razor blade to get it down to a clean edge. (& then maybe file it smooth if you're a real neat freak)

Why not just use sandpaper?

my main concern was not how to get off the screw holes, but if it would be easy to work with a card edge connector that is so small, an entire NES cart would swallow it, even parts of the pins sticking out of the bottom.

What do y'all think?

If the depth simply isn't deep enough, you may just have to buy a new 72-pin connector. When you bought this one, did it say it was specifically for the NES?

No, I just compared the specs to what I knew about the NES cart. If the cart wasn't in a plastic case and was just a circuit board, everything would be fine. It connects perfectly. But it is, and the fit is slightly awkward...
