Volume Pot

I got a volume pot out of an old CD player. It has 5 pins, but I can't figure out which is which.

Does anybody know what the pinout is?

A little more details would be nice, what type of potentiometer is it? How much turns does it have, is it linear? Is there a power rating on it? Ohm rating? Tolerance? These things would really help.

1 in

gnd
2 in

That would make sense; one for each channel & whatnot...

Just follow the traces on the CD player's PCB.

ganon is probably correct.

if you understood how a potentiometer worked, you would see how to figure it out with a multimeter.

It goes as follows:

1) Input 1
2) Input 2
3) Output 2
4) Output 1 (not sure about the output order, but I think this is correct. Everything all upside-down, spaghetti wired and whatnot at the moment.
5) Ground
