I'm trying to build a portable SF2 radica with a cartridge slot. I hacked a portable LCD and built a controller board and shown it works with the inbuild games. Now i'm upto soldered an IDE cable to the chip as I want to use both the rom and a card reader. I've read a post about possibly using the chip enable pin to turn the chip off and use the card slot instead.
My question, what is the best way of going about this, is it a matter of cutting the trace and adding a switch or can I connect my soldered wire to ground via a switch.
Thanks

Desoldering/Seperating the CE on the ROM is a bit difficult, so I suggest tracing it towards the IC and cutting/soldering it there. (Killed my Radica doing this). If you can suck the solder off of the contact, slip something in between the chip and the pcb, then solder wires to each it'd be wonderfull though.
Any hint to where the CE line would be, to ease me tracing it.
Is there any other way at all. I did think that if I gave the rom a seperate ground line from the chip and set the voltage of the chips ground line to VCC then there wouldn't be any potential difference and the rom would be effectivly dissabled. Am I being stupid?
